On June 5, both Tennessee Highway Patrol and the Macon County Sheriff's Department vehicles were subject to vandalism during an arrest and subsequent transport to the Macon County Justice Center.

According to an affidavit of complaint filed by THP Sergeant Ashley Mercer, Daniel Wayne Swindle, 31, 160 Woodard Road, Lafayette, was stopped for weaving across the road. When Swindle's vehicle was stopped, an odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected, according to the report.

During an attempt to place Swindle in the the back of the car he allegedly became combative and had to be physically placed in the seat. The reports indicate he kicked out the back left rear door glass and bent the door frame away from the car.

Sergeant Darrel Taylor of Macon County Sheriff's department then transported Swindle due to the damage done to the THP cruiser.

When placed in the MCSD car Swindle allegedly kicked the right rear window and bent the frame around the window.

Charges filed in the June 5 incident against Swindle include driving under influence, resisting arrest, violation of implied consent, and vandalism. A Sessions Court date of 7/09 was scheduled and bond was set at $4,000.

On June 9, Daniel Swindle was charged with violation of probation by Sergeant Bennie Hudgens. A Criminal Court date of September 22, 2008 was scheduled with a Hold for Court clause.
