He was preceded in death by a son Dennis Neal Cherry; parents Sammy and Estelle Cherry; and a brother, Don Cherry of Kentucky.
Survivors include his devoted wife, Tena Cherry; a loving daughter Angela (Mike) Long of Kingston Springs, Tenn., beloved step-children Karrie (Jim) Cherry, Mt. Juliet, Tenn.; and Vincent (Kim) Bender, Jackson, Tenn.; caring mother-in-law, Jorja DeForge, Hermitage, Tenn.; granddaughters Erica Brimm and Emily Long; step-grandchildren Deanna and Jamison Cherry; Caitlin, Maya and Laken Bender; step great-grandson, Brendan Cherry; brothers: Duel, Dale (Vickie), Doyle and David (Patty) Cherry: sisters: Joyce (Jim) Hudson, Judy (David) Hatcher and Jan (Jeff) Browning; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Dennis loved and cared for every one of us. He will always be remembered by his beautiful smile and generous heart. A special thank you to NHC Richland Place and Caris Hospice staff for their excellent care and concern.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be Saturday, June 21, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Cherry Farms, 2709 Capitol Hill Road, Fountain Run, KY 42133.
