Volleyball Lessons at Macon County Jr. High School
Volleyball lessons will be available beginning the first week of June 2008 at MCJHS. Lessons will consist of volleyball fundamentals such as passing, setting, spiking, etc. and basic offensive and defensive skills. Individual and group lessons will be available. Relay for Life Truck Pull
The All Co. Jaycees will be sponsoring a Truck Pull on Saturday, June 7, 7 p.m. at the Allen Co. Fairgrounds in Scottsville, KY. The pull is sanctioned by the Kentucky Outlaw Truck Pullers. Classes include Mini Trucks, Prostock, and Prostreet two and four wheel drive. Street stock and Hot Diesel classes. There will be unsanctioned diesel and gas classes after the sanctioned pull. Gate admission for the pull is $8.00. All proceeds will go towards the Allen Co. Jaycees Relay for Life Fund. Benefit Basketball Tournament June 7
A benefit basketball tournament will be held June 7th at the middle school beside the football field for Dustin Jones, who is 25 years old and has cancer. All proceeds will to his medical expenses. To enter, please call 388-3629. Entrance fee will be $100.00. Donations accepted. Deadline for team entries will be Wed., June 4th.
Macon Co. Jr. High Baseball Tryouts
MCJH baseball tryouts for upcoming 7th and 8th graders will be held at Macon County High School Baseball Field on Wednesday, June 11 and Thursday, June 12 at 1:00 p.m
Adult Wooden Bat League
The Adult Baseball League located in Macon County will be a little different this year. The league will be a wooden bat league instead of aluminum. The entry fee will be $450 per team with all proceeds going to the Macon County High School Baseball Team. Every game will be played at the high school field instead of the City Park. Helmets and catching equipment will be available for those teams who do not have their own, but each team will be responsible for supplying their own wooden bats. The deadline to sign up for the league is July 1st and the league will start either the last week of July or first week of August and run through Sept. Turkey Shoot June 7
A turkey shoot will be held June 7, 12:00 noon at Fountain Run Park, Hwy. 100 between Fountain Run & Gamaliel, sponsored by the Fountain Run Sportsman Club. Shooting: shot gun (bring your own).
Basketball Camp June 6
The event at Nashville's Victory Church,This day-long event is aimed at giving underprivledge youth a chance to experience a Five-Star Basketball camp-which have been attended in the past by Lebron James, Dwayne Wade and Carmelo Anthony among other NBA stars - while also learning life-skills in area like personal finances, healthy living and conflict resoltion. The Victory Church (3447 Brick Church Pike Road) is looking forward to this event. There are also families who are attending the camp available to speak with you about the opportunity.
