Lafayette City Election this Thursday, May 29

Early voting for Lafayette City Mayor and for three Lafayette city council member seats ended on Saturday at Noon. “449 voted in the early voting by close Saturday,” said Administrator of Elections, Dianne Cline, adding, “A little less than normal.”

The City Election will be held on Thursday May 29 from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM

Running for the office of mayor is incumbent Mayor Bill Wells with challengers Jack Butrum and James Young Carter.

Loryn Atwell will be running for the city council seat he currently holds, as will write in candidate Jerry Wix. Also in the running for the three open seats are Richard Bransford, Robert Hodges, and Steve Turner..

The election will be held in the old police station and fire hall across the street from City Hall business office on East Locust Street.
