Several hundred people attended the Disaster Relief Expo last Saturday, and received information about services which will soon be available to assist victims of the February storms recover from their losses.

Volunteers from the Disaster Response Services of the Christian Reform World Relief Committee (CRWRC) have now arrived this week in our community. They have begun door-to-door interviews to determine the unmet needs in Macon County and surrounding areas. Our local recovery organization, Long-Term Recovery of Macon County (LTRMC), has requested their assistance in order to better provide for the needs of our recovering families.

When the assessments are completed, the CRWRC will turn over all of the information to our local recovery organization. The confidential information gathered will help to determine the impact of the disaster on the community and will assist the LTRMC in securing grants for funds that will benefit the local families affected.
