* Macon County Mounts Volunteer Debris Clean-up Push



Lafayette, TN - Macon County Mayor Shelvy Linville, today announced a “Volunteer Debris Clean-Up Push” for the county in the aftermath of last weeks devastating tornadoes.



Volunteers should report to Macon County Junior High School, 1003 Highway 52 By-Pass East in Lafayette at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 16th.



Volunteers are asked to bring any equipment that can be used in the clean up effort such as backhoes, bobcats, or chainsaws. Gloves and heavy duty trash bags are also greatly needed and necessary for the clean up.



“Volunteers should ‘show up, ready to work’”, said Mayor Linville. “We also want to thank everyone who has pitched in to assist us in this massive undertaking.”

If you received damage from the Tornados the VFW Post 7135 request that you call the post at 666-7870, Mickey Chambers at 388-9545, or call Mike Scott, (Service Officer) at 666-4480. This is requested to all veterans that received damage whether they are VFW Members or not. Please respond to this request as soon as possible.
