Carol Irene Boyd, of Lafayette, died at the age of 42 on Tuesday evening, February 5, 2008, from injuries sustained from the tornado that swept through Macon County. Funeral services for Carol Irene Boyd were conducted from the Chapel of the Alexander Funeral Home on Sunday, February 10, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. with E. C. Meadows officiating. Family and friends served pallbearers. Burial followed in the Haysville Cemetery.

Born Carol Irene Boyd in Erie County, Ohio, on June 30, 1965, one of six daughters born to Carl E. and Amelia "Millie" Leona (Wolford) Boyd, who survives and resides in Lafayette. Her sister Joyce Marie (Boyd) Rohrbaugh preceded her in death. She was an employee of Tennplasco Inc. in Lafayette.

Besides her father and mother, she is survived by daughter, Roxann Hess, Lafayette, sisters, Carla Miller of Athens, Tennessee, Gail Johnson of Murfreesboro, Jody Polston and Lisa Nickerson both of Lafayette.
