Qualifying criteria was developed to define the qualities an Employee of the Year should exhibit. All employees except administration and department heads were eligible to be nominated. Any employee including department heads and administration could submit a nomination.
Eight nominations from various departments were submitted. “All eight of the nominees are excellent employees and could represent MCGH well as Employee of the Year,” said hospital administrator Dennis Wolford.
Patsy Carnahan was honored with one of the awards. She is a Licensed Practical Nurse and has been employed by Macon County general Hospital since 1981. Patsy has worked as a medication nurse, ER nurse and as a Surgery/Endoscopy/Central supply nurse.
Michael Holland received the second award. He joined the MCGH Maintenance Department in April 2004. His varied duties have been many according to the demands of the department. Mike has also served as ad hoc member of the Hospital Week and Employee Christmas Committees.
Among many, many compliments, Patsy was described as “compassionate, cheerful, humble about her own accomplishments, enthusiastic, a dedicated team player, and someone that makes a difference in the lives of others.”
Mike was recognized for his willingness to participate in planning and executing employee activities, demonstrating good customer service daily, his attitude about his work, focusing on the positive, and taking pride in himself and in the quality of work he produces.
Congratulations to these two dedicated employees that contribute so much to the success of our local hospital.
