This past Saturday we began our 11th season of basketball action with 10 exciting games being played. I want to thank each player's parents for allowing them to play in our league this year as once again we have grown bigger and stronger. I want to take this time to invite the community to come out for the next 5 Saturdays and watch these young ladies and young men play their hearts out while learning about the game of basketball. There will be 10 games each of these Saturdays, so everyone can come on out and catch some great action.

Our 1st game this past week was a 6-8 girls' game and had Melissa Belton's team winning over Anthony Bullington's team 14-8. For Melissa, Keeley Clariday had 4 points, and Marah King, Kinsley Green, Lydia Doss, Lora Darnell and Jenna Russell all had 2 each. For Anthony, Luci Allen had 5 points and Tamra Murphy had 3.

The 2nd game was a 6-8 girls' game and had Glenda Oyster's team defeating Shawn Carter's team 34-16. For Glenda, Makenzie Mercer had 18 points, Grace Malo had 14 and Abby Oyster had 2. For Shawn, Mallory Owens had 6, Ashlan Doss had 4, Jacy Russell had 4 and Ragen Gregory had 1.

The 3rd game was a 6-8 boys' game and had Dwayne Colter's team winning over Dewayne Cook's team 19-14. For Colter, Cole Carnahan had 9 points, Bryant Goolsby had 7 and Aaron Colter had 3. For Cook, Seth Carlisle had 6 points, Parker Smith had 4, and Trent Cook and Tyler Gann had 2 each.

The 4th game was a 6-8 boys' game and had Chris Grant's team defeating Jason Marsh's team 25-24. For Chris, Michael Ashburn had 19 and Isaac Grant, Dawson Rutan and Ben Burrow had 2 each. For Jason, Riley Phillips had 11 points, Trent Boles had 8, Taylor Carman had 3 and Luke Perrigo had 2.

The 5th game was a 6-8 boys' game and had Stevie Smith's team winning over Teresa Thomas's team 32-23. For Stevie, Spencer Hogin and Chance Presley had 12 points each, Joshua Hauskin had 6 and Blake Smith had 2. For Teresa, Dawson Brawner had 10 points, Tanner Cleary had 6, Bryson Smith had 5 and Bret Sloan had 2.

The 6th game was a 9-12 girls' game and had Melissa Belton's team defeating Anthony Bullington's team 26-13. For Melissa, Kaitlyn Main, Rachael Baillie and Ashton Swindle had 6 points each, Lyndsey Belton had 4 and Brooke Collins and Brandi Garmon had 2 each. For Anthony, Cierra Woodard had 7 points, Kelsey Bullington had 4 and Abby Kepley had 2.

The 7th game was a 9-12 girls' game and had Spencer Shrum's team winning over Scott Key's team 14-13. For Spencer, Briley Driver had 8 and Reese Shrum had 6. For Scott, Logan Hernandez had 7, Leah Anderson had 4 and Taylor Shoulders had 2.

The 8th game was a 9-12 boys' game and had Jeff Hudson's team defeating David Phillips' team 24-10. For Jeff, Taylor Rich had 10, Jake Azbell had 6 and Tanner Lowhorn, Drew Wilmore, Peyton Azbell and Daniel Ashburn had 2 each. For David, Homer Tirjan had 4 and Jedediah Coley, Brandon Noles and Trey Reid had 2 each.

The 9th game was a 9-12 boys' game and had Connie Shrum's team winning over Travis Anderson's team 41-9. For Connie, Jesse Gregory had 18, Clay Carnahan had 8, Dillon McCormick had 6, Mayson Shrum had 4, Kendrick Carter had 3 and Marcus Dennis had 2. For Travis, Bailey Anderson had 6 and Tyler Carlisle had 3.

The 10th and final game was a 9-12 boys' game and had Jeff McPherson's team defeating Mendy Cliburn's team 29-20. For Jeff, Zachary Polston had 17, Jalyn Lankford had 7, Matt Austin had 4 and Trace McPherson had 1. For Mendy, Evan Perrigo and Raftin Turner had 5 each, Travis Eller had 4 and Kole Cliburn, Nicholas Hill and Alex Hill had 2 each.

Once again we would like to invite everyone to come on out beginning at 10:00 next Saturday and watch some great basketball action.
