Family requests prayers

Seventeen-year-old Brittney King was in a car accident on December 12. Only two months after receiving her Pontiac Sunfire car, she was traveling on a rain slick North Springs-Highway 151 road and lost control in a curve. Now she is in Vanderbilt Hospital with serious injuries with many broken bones, and a severed spinal cord, leaving her paralyzed from her shoulders down. She also is four months pregnant, so any treatment is complicated.

According to the Red Boiling Springs teenager's father, Terry King, “the section of the road was quite dangerous.” He reported a guard rail was placed at the site the day following the accident.

“She found out she is having a baby girl,” said Terry King this Monday. He said Brittney will require facial reconstruction surgery as well as needing much other medical attention once she gets stronger.

News Channel 4 aired a story on the teen on Wednesday night January 2 and still has a video section available. Financially, it has been tough. The family wishes to thank everyone who has offered up prayers on Brittney and her baby's behalf. They request your continued prayers as she remains in critical condition.
