(1) GUARDRAILS INSTALLED

State contracted crews with LU, Inc. of Kingsport, TN were working Wednesday, Thursday and Friday the week before Christmas installing guardrails on two of the worst sections for wrecks on the east side of the roadway. TDOT has been asked by county officials to fill in the gaps and extend the guardrails even further north on the dangerous, heavily traveled state maintained road.

 

(2) MACON COUNTY TIMES HOLIDAY SCHEDULE

 

The December 27 issue of the Macon County Times will be distributed to dealers and rack locations on Christmas Eve, December 24. The paper will be mailed out as usual on Wednesday for local and surrounding counties home delivery on Thursday.

The Macon County Times will be closed Christmas Day, and will also close on New Years Day, Tuesday, January 1, 2008. The advertising deadline for the January 3 issue will be Friday, December 28 at 3 p.m. Papers will be on the street Monday afternoon, December 31, and be mailed out on Wednesday, January 3 as usual.
