Macon Jr. Pro Basketball will be beginning its 11th season here within the next month or so as we will be having our sign-ups on Wednesday December 5 at Central Elementary School from 6-9 PM. This will be the only sign-up date set for this year. If your child is interested in playing please try to make arrangements to attend this sign up date.

Following is a little information about our league. This will be the 11th season of Jr Pro basketball and there are two age groups for both girls and boys. These divisions are 6-8 and 9-12 or through the 6th grade. All of the games are played on Saturday afternoons after 11:00 AM at Central Elementary. Practices will not begin until the 1st week of January to give everyone a little break with all of the holidays to enjoy spending with your families. Each team will practice on Monday or Thursday nights for 1 hour each week. The games will begin either the 2nd or 3rd week of January and will run through the month of February with possibly a league tournament at the end of the season. There may be times when the schedule has to be changed due to school functions or inclement weather. Each child will receive a jersey of their team's color and their own number that they choose. The games are set up to have four 8-minute quarters and every team has a rotation system to go by that allows every child to play an equal amount of time. Each game has 3 referees and a scoreboard will be kept to try to make it as close as possible to a real high school game. The league has the full cooperation of the principals from the schools along with the junior high and high school coaches. Our league tries to teach all the fundamentals of the game of basketball along with sportsmanship, teamwork and respect for others.
