Funeral services for Mrs. Verna Marie Fleming, age 83, of Bethpage, Tennessee, were held Friday, Nov. 16, 2007 at 1 p.m. from the Chapel of Woodard Funeral Home with Bro. Herb Mays and Bro. Tim McCaleb officiating. Pallbearers were Nicky Ray Booker, Jr.,Derrick Bandy, Dustin Bandy, Kyle Rippy, Jordan Rippy, and Harold Carter. Honorary pallbearers were Caleb Yankee, Keith Staggs, Braden Hill, Andrew Crudup, Reagan Hill, and Dylan Rippy.

Interment was in Sherron Cemetery.

Mrs. Fleming passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2007.

She was the daughter of the late Ernest Rippy and Nellie Angel. Mrs. Fleming was a member of Hozanna Church and Mrs. Fleming, through much prayer, was very instrumental in the organization and success of Amazing Grace Ministries. She was retired from General Electric. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl B. Fleming, parents, Ernest and Mellie Angel Rippy, brother, Junior Brown, and sister, Mary Elizabeth Carter.

Survivors include daughters, Doris and Scott Rippy of Bethpage and Glenda and Eddie Newport of Gallatin, TN; sisters, Sue Leath of Westmoreland and Norma Trisler of Mooresville, IN; brothers, Billy Brown of Indianapolis, IN, E.C. Brown of Indianapolis, IN, Raymond Rippy of Indianapolis, IN, and James Rippy of Indianapolis, IN; and 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
