A fire of unknown origin heavily damaged a Cotton Hollow residence early Sunday morning, October 7, 2007.

The home, belonging to Alton Bowman, and located near the Carthage Road, caught fire in several places at about 6 a.m. Sunday, according to RBS Fire Chief Danny Knight.

LFD Fire Chief and state Assistant Fire Marshall Keith Scruggs, and Macon County Sheriff's Department detectives are assisting RBS officials in investigating the origin of the suspicious fire, which apparently broke out in a basement storage room, but also appeared to have broken out in the attic and first floor locations of the residence.
