MCHS Volleyball Claims 1st Place in Macon Co. Hosted Tournament

The MCHS Volleyball Team hosted an eight team, one day tournament on Saturday, September 29.

The teams were split up into 2 pools of four teams each. Pool play started at 8 a.m. and ended at 1 p.m. The single elimination tournament began at 2 p.m.

The Tigerettes went undefeated all day.

They were in their first pool, defeating: Hendersonville, White Co., & Ezell Harding.

During the single elimination tourney in the first round, Macon defeated Livingston Academy and advanced to the semi-finals.

Macon County also defeated Station Camp in the semi-finals and advances to the Championship Match were they had to play Ezell Harding.

Macon County defeated Ezell Harding in the Championship Match and took First place for the second year in a row in the teams fourth year of hosting a tournament.

The teams record now stands at 29 wins and 8 losses.

MCHS Volleyball Team Claim Wins Over Station Camp & Mt. Juliet Christian

The MCHS Volleyball Team was victorious in the match against Station Camp, September 20, crushing them with scores of 25-14, 25-16, and 25-15.

The states in that game include: Amy Spears with 26 passes, 58 sets, and 6 dinks; Emily Sullivan with 8 aces, 10 kills, and 6 blocks assisted by Tori Key.

Mt. Juliet Christian traveled to Macon County and walked away defeated by scores of 25-17, 25-20, 23-25, and 25-11. MCHS stats in that game include: Brooke Bowers with 40 passes and 17 dinks; Amy Spears with 75 sets; Emily Sullivan with 4 aces and 8 kills; and Tori Key with 9 blocks.

MCHS will travel to Livingston for

regular season play, October 4, followed by their last seasonal game to be played at Portland in a JV Tournament, October 6.
