Makin' Macon Fit Saturday, September 8th

The 14th annual Makin' Macon Fit will be held Saturday, September 8 at the Macon County Junior High.

All the usual events will be held. The 5K Race will begin at 7:30 a.m.; 3 Mile Walk at 7:30 a.m.; 10 Mile Bike Tour at 8:00 a.m.; 33 Mile Bike Tour at 8:00 a.m.; 66 Mile Bike Tour at 8:00 a.m.; Events for the Challenged at 10:00 a.m.; and the Century (100 mile) Bike Tour will begin at 8:30 a.m. Kids' events, including Fun Run, obstacle course with 64 ft. slide, and Jr. Bike Rodeo (remember your bicycle helmet!) will begin at 8:30 a.m.

$500 will be awarded to the Macon County School with the most registered participants. Also this year, $300 will be awarded to the school with the second highest amount of registered participants. $200 will go to the teacher with the most participants. Other proceeds will help fund a college scholarship and support Lafayette Rotary and Interact Club community projects.

Free t-shirts will be given to all that register. Registration can be made on Saturday, September 8th, however, it is recommended that you arrive 30 minutes prior to the event in which you are participating. Door prizes include at least six bicycles.

The Lafayette Rotary Club, Macon County Health Council, Macon County General Hospital, and Lafayette Interact Club are the Official Hosts of Makin' Macon Fit.
