Joe C. Eller, 78, of Houston, went to be with The Lord on Tuesday, May 8, 2007 in Dublin, Ireland. Mr. Eller was born on August 18, 1928 in Hillsdale, TN to Chalmus H. and Vadie D. Eller.

He was a member of Second Baptist Church of Houston, served on the boards of the Eller Family Association and the Houston Chapter of the University of Tennessee Alumni Association. Mr. Eller was also a founder member and Director of the Inter Industry Insurance Group. Mr. Eller was preceded in death by a brother, Charlie Eller and former wife, Patricia Eller.

Mr. Eller is survived by his daughter Melinda Lunaas and her husband Kevin of Richmond, TX, his son Jack Eller and his wife Lori of Scottsdale, AZ; three grandchildren, Justin, Christina and Elizabeth; two sisters, Margaret Massey and Jeanice Garrett, and a brother, Steve Eller, and his wife Brenda; along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Mr. Eller served in the US Air Force and earned a Bachelors degree for the University of Tennessee and a Masters degree for Texas A&M University. He was a Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society member. Mr. Eller spent a long successful career in business, having started and operated several companies in manufacturing and service businesses. He also participated and gave of his time to a number of university alumni, industry trade and family genealogical associations. Joe Eller was a unique man who influenced and positively touched the lives of many people. He will be dearly missed by all who know him.

Funeral services for Mr. Eller were held on Friday, May, 18, 2007, in the Chapel at Second Baptist Church of Houston. Interment followed in the Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery.
