First on my list after I checked off Egypt was Peru and I went there a couple of years ago. Peru - Land of mystery. Land of intrigue. Land of the Inca and the Moche, the Chimu and the Chachapoyas. Land of mud bricks and stone. Land of exuberantly colored fabrics. Land of enchantment. Land of the Andes and the Pacific Ocean.
Yes, I was fascinated with Peru. I think about the wonders that remain. If the Spanish had stayed on their side of the ocean and not systematically destroyed the magnificent culture they found in Peru, I think about what other wonders may have been there.
Even the names are evocative. Machu Picchu. El Brujo. Chan Chan. Kuelap. Leymebamba. Sip
