Roosevelt Jackson (R. J.) Spivey, 59, 5533 Oak Grove Rd., RBS, a former Macon County Jailer, was arrested by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation at his home Thursday February, 8.

Sergeant Ira Meador of the Macon County Sheriff's Department executed the warrant for Spivey's arrest.

Spivey was charged with one count of Sexual Contact with an inmate and one count of Official Misconduct. He was accused of having sexual relations with a female inmate at the Macon County Jail during July of last year, when he was a jailer there, according to reports.

Former Macon County Sheriff Joe Ferguson asked the TBI to investigate the allegations against Spivey, after the female inmate filed a complaint with the sheriff's Department, according to the TBI.

Spivey is scheduled to appear in Criminal Court February 28, 2007, and bond was set at $5,000.
