Betty Baird Williams Yancey, age 79, of the Russell Hill Community passed away on Friday, Jan. 12, 2007.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren.

She is survived by her loving family, including sons, David (Ellen) Yancey, Dickson, Steven (Sally) Yancey, Pleasant Shade, John (Patti) Yancey, Lawrence-ville, GA; brother, Buddy (Ann) Williams, Ashland, KY; grandchildren; Jessy, Warren, Cale and Mary Beth. A native of Post, Texas, Betty moved to Macon County, TN in 1975. Prior to retirement, she worked as a special education teacher and school psychologist. She was an active member of the Lafayette United Methodist Church, serving as the organist for a number of years. She was also involved with the Macon County Retired Teachers Association, Delta Kappa Gamma and Beta Sigma Phi. Throughout her life, Betty touched so many people, and she will be loved and missed by all.

Services were held Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007 at her home in the Russell Hill community, followed by interment in the Davis Cemetery.
