Macon County Emergency Service to meet Jan. 18

The Macon County EmergencyService 911 meeting will be held on Thursday, Jan. 18, at 1 p.m. at the ambulance service on Hwy 52. The public is invited to attend.

Parks and Recreation to meet Jan. 22

The Macon County Parks and Recreation association will hold a meeting on Monday, Jan. 22, at 6 p.m. in room 118 at the Macon County Junior High in order to discuss the upcoming season of girls' softball. All interested parties are encouraged to attend. Attendance of board members is expected.

Makin' Macon Fit Committee to meet Feb. 7

The Makin' Macon Fit Committee will meet Wednesday, February 7, at 8 a.m. in the conference room at the Macon County General Hospital. All committee members are urged to attend.

Tri-County Master Beef Program to be conducted

A Tri-County (Macon, Smith, and Trousdale) Master Beef Program will be conducted in 2007. The 8 sessions will be every Thursday, starting February 1 and concluding on March 22. They will start at 6:30 p.m. at the Head Start Center on Hwy. 25 near Dixon Springs. The cost is $150 for the 8 sessions. If you are BQA certified and have your premise I.D. numbers, the State Department of Agriculture will pay $100 of this amount. If you would like to participate in the training, contact the Macon County Extension Office (666-3341) by January 26, 2007.

MCHS Class of 1987 to hold meeting

The MCHS Graduating Class of 1987 will be holding a meeting to discuss the upcoming 20 year class reunion on Monday, January 29, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. at Lafayette Elementary School. Anyone interested please attend.

LBJ&C Monthly meeting to be held Jan. 30

The February monthly meeting of the L.B.J. & C. Head Start Policy has been rescheduled for Tuesday, January 30, 2007 beginning at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at the L.B.J. & C. Development Corporation, 1150 Chocolate Drive, Cookeville, Tennessee.
