A 1992 red Jeep Cherokee, driven by Joyce Lankford of Lafayette, rolled over several times before landing on its side and sending a green 1995 Toyota Camry, driven by Norman Morris of Bethpage, onto the westbound shoulder of the Highway 52 By-Pass in Lafayette, Monday afternoon, December 4, at 4:30 p.m., according to Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Terry Seay.

Ruby Osborne, a passenger in Lankford's Cherokee, was life flighted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. David Morris, a passenger in the Camry driven by Norman Morris was not injured,Trooper Seay reports.

Lankford was traveling east on Hwy. 52 West near Westside School, when she lost control of the Jeep Cherokee, and failed to negotiate a curve. The jeep crossed into the westbound lane, into the path of the Toyota, driven by David Morris, according to the THP.

When the Toyota struck the Jeep, the impact caused the Toyota to run off the road, onto the westbound shoulder, and sent the Jeep rolling over several times. No other vehicles were reported to be involved in the wreck, and information on the condition of the injured was not available at press time.
