In a special meeting of the RBS City Council, held Tuesday September 19, the Council voted to hire James Anthony Warner as a full time patrol officer with the RBS Police Department. The Council also voted to purchase a 2007 Chevrolet truck from Bill Heard Chevrolet, for $13,500.

During the regular Council meeting on September 14, Chief Tuck recommended calling a special meeting for the purpose of hiring a new officer because officers were working overtime.

“I've been over all the applications, and I think Warner would be the best person to fill our needs on this job,” RBS Police Chief Terry Tuck said, during the September 14 RBS Council meeting, when he first recommended Warner for the new officer position.

At the special meeting on September 19, the motion to hire Warner was made by Jim Roark with a second from Tommy Spivey.

Lawrence Hollis and Bobby Ethridge were absent from the special meeting.
