The past week wound up the MCJH Girls' soccer team's divisional matches with games at Thurman Frances and home against Walter J. Baird.

In Monday's game, the Tigers were in a second-place tie with the Thurman Frances Rams. It was a hard fought game with neither team able to sustain a clear advantage, ending in a 0-0 tie. However, due to tie-breakers, the Tigers finished in 2nd place in their division. Sarah Shrum and Kailyn Brooks played extremely well defensively for the Tigers. No Junior Varsity game was played due to darkness.

In Friday's match, the Varsity Tigers met Walter J. Baird Middle School in Lafayette. WJB came into Lafayette seeking revenge for an earlier Tiger win, but were turned away 3-1 due to the spectacular offensive play of the Tigers front line. Charity Heflin had two goals and Haley Harris one. Ashley Gregory contributed two assists in the game.

In Junior Varsity play, the Tigers avenged their only loss with a 1-0 win. Both teams played well, with the winning score coming via penalty kick by Calamity Jane Coley.

The Varsity Tigers record is currently 5-2-1 and the JV Tigers are 3-2-1. Regular season play winds up this week with home games Monday against Friendship Christian and Wednesday against Burke Middle of Monterey. A season ending tournament is scheduled for Friday and Saturday at Walter J. Baird in Lebanon.
