Teacher Mark Shrum injured in Asheville motorcycle mishap

Lafayette high school teacher Mark Shrum is recovering this week from multiple injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident which occurred Friday, June 30 near Asheville, North Carolina. Shrum was vacationing there at the time.

Shrum and his wife Lynn were motorcycling to visit the historic Baltimore Estate in Western North Carolina Friday afternoon when a motorist reportedly pulled out in front of his motorcycle causing him to crash. Shrum suffered five broken ribs, a broken collar bone and injuries to one foot in the motorcycle mishap.

Mark Shrum was released from an Asheville hospital this Monday and was expected to return home to Lafayette that same day, according to his daughter, Dana.
