-Durham misquoted in Marijuana Cave story

Assistant District Attorney David Durham was terribly misquoted in last week's paper, and we're sorry for any misunderstanding that stemmed from the misinformation.

Bill Wells, Mayor of Lafayette, and city officials are those who received kudos from Durham; not the county mayor or officials.

It is the City of Lafayette that supports and works with the 15th Judicial Drug Task Force, making possible the kind of teamwork and investigation that it took to make the case against drug manufacturers, traffickers, and dealers. The county does not fund the drug task force, Durham reported.

We hope this clears up the misquote and any misunderstandings.

**********

We goofed in Section B, page 1. The photo of the folks out at the Macon County Transfer Station were “out of order” in the caption.

The proper “order” should read l-r, Chris Taylor, Chuck (Junior) McLerran, Robert Coons and Debbie Richardson. We apologize for the error!
