TRA RESTRAINING ORDER PREVENTS RBS GAS CUTOFF

A temporary restraining order to prevent the termination of gas services on Saturday, May 6 to the citizens and businesses of Red Boiling Springs was obtained by the Tennessee

Regulatory Authority, announced Richard Collier of TRA Legal Services. The order was obtained after Atmos Energy, the pipeline supplier of RBS Gas Utility, issued a Notice of Cancellation on April 21 of its intent to terminate gas deliveries to Red Boiling Springs for nonpayment.

"Consumers should not bear the sever consequences of the termination of natural gas service resulting solely from the mismanagement and monopoly nature of the public utility serving their community.

RBS Gas customers may call TRA's Consumer Services Division if they have question or complaints at 1-800-342-8359, then pressing 2.

TVA DELIVERS TRANSFORMER TO KEEP TRI-COUNTY CUSTOMERS ALIGHT

A temporary transformer was delivered by TVA to Macon County on Thursday, May 4. Remaining on the trailer it came on, the transformer will be backed into the substation on Long Creek Road to serve as a backup until the transformer that failed on April 27 can be repaired and replaced. Last week's failure left more than 8,200 Tri-County members without lights for nearly eight hours last week.
