MCGH Diabetes Educ. Program to offer CPR

MCGH Diabetes Education Program will offer an American Heart Association Friends and Family CPR Class on Saturday, February 25, from 9 a.m. till 12 noon. This is a free class for the community. The Lafayette Church of Christ invites everyone to a free Wild Game supper Saturday, February 25, at 6 p.m.

Girls' Softball signups February 25

The Macon County Parks and Recreation will conduct sign-ups for the 2006 girls' softball league Saturday, February 25, at Central from 12 noon until 4 p.m. All girls who were 6 years old and younger than 17 on January 1, 2006 are eligible to play. A membership donation of $20 per player is requested at sign-up, and first time signees need to provide a copy of their birth certificate. You can also sign-up at Garmon's Sporting Goods during regular hours.

Parks and Recreation to hold Directors meeting

The Macon County Parks and Recreation Association will hold a meeting of their board of directors and prospective coaches for the 2006 season on Sunday, February 26, at 3 p.m. in room 118 at the Macon County Junior High. Those who wish to coach during the upcoming season are expected to attend.

Monroe County Medical Center to host education program

Monroe County Medical Center will host an educational program through the Kentucky TeleHealth Network. The program, titled Colorectal Cancer “A Preventable Disease”. This program will air on Thursday, March 2, from 2-3:30 p.m. in the Hospital Conference Room. A Fruit Production meeting will be held Tuesday, March 7. The meeting will start at 10 a.m. at the Bill Speck Building at the Macon County Fairgrounds. Dr. David Lockwood, U.T. Plan Science Specialist, will discuss producing various types of fruit (apples, peaches, strawberries, ect.). After lunch we will move to Ferrell Meador's orchard and conduct a tree pruning demonstration.

Tobacco Meeting March 9

A tobacco meeting will be held Thursday, March 9. The meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. at the Sally Wells Building at the Macon County Fairgrounds. The speakers will include various tobacco industry representatives and Dr. Steve Bost, U.T. Specialist. Special meeting of Macon Trousdale Farmers Cooperative

A special meeting of the members of Macon Trousdale Farmers Cooperative will be held March 14, at 6:30 p.m., in the Ray Goad Building at the Macon County Fairgrounds in Lafayette. The purpose of the meeting is to consider and vote on a plan of merger between Macon Trousdale Farmers Cooperative and Wilson Farmers Cooperative. No other business will be transacted at this meeting.

Fibromyalgia Group rescheduled to March 13

The Fibromyalgia Group that was scheduled for February 20, has been rescheduled for Monday, March 13. It will be at the Macon County General Hospital Outpatient Rehab as previously planned. A Records Commission meeting will be held in the Macon County Archives, at the county courthouse, at 4:45 p.m. on Monday, February 27. The public is always welcome and invited to attend the open meeting.
