Democratic Party to choose candidates in caucus Saturday

Election season will officially open with the selection of the Democratic Party candidates on Saturday.

The Democratic Party Caucus will be held on Saturday, February 11 at 12 noon at the Macon County Justice Center. Candidates will be chosen to represent the party in the upcoming county election.

In other county primary news and election news, 37 candidates had returned petitions to be on the ballot for the Republican Primary in May or as an Independent in the fall 2006 election.

They included the following list.
