Stephen Shane Farley, age 29, of of the same address was arrested the next morning and charged with aggravated domestic violence by Sgt. Kimball Hall with the Macon County Sheriff’s Department.
Farley came home at approximately 9 p.m. and began arguing with her, Reid said.
They continued to argue until 1 a.m., she said in her statement to Sgt. Hall, when Reid finally persuaded Farley to leave the residence.
He came back to the house around 2 a.m. and the couple began to argue again. It was during this argument that Farley allegedly became violent. He obtained a gun from the gun cabinet and then pushed Reid to the bed, restricting her movements. He then placed the gun to her throat and pressed hard against her skin, according to the police report.
Reid begged Farley to put the gun down. He did, only to then grab a knife and allegedly hold Reid down with the knife pressed into her throat.
“I tried to fight him off,” she said, “but he told me to quit or one of us would get cut.”
Mrs. Reid was able to eventually calm her boyfriend down by telling him she was willing to talk and work out their problems. She told Sgt. Gross that he went to sleep around 4:30 a.m. and she left the house at 6:30 a.m.
She then went immediately to the Red Boiling Springs Police Department and spoke with Assistant Chief Steve Evans who assisted Sgt. Hall with the arrest of Farley.
Stephen Shane Farley has a court date scheduled for February 8. He has been released on a $2000 bond.
