Rebecca Willette and Donald Joe Caruso, of 949 of King Hill Road, were questioned Monday, January 30, by the sheriff’s department after authorities found what they believed to be marijuana in their vehicle and home.

Charges are pending and the case is still under investigation by Detective Jimmy Hardin.

A concerned citizen phoned the sheriff’s department early Monday morning with information concerning drug paraphernalia and marijuana in a parked vehicle on the Carthage Road.

Deputies Larry West and Michael Veatch investigated the call and upon arrival, Willette willingly gave the officers the illegal substances she had on her person.

She then gave written consent to search her vehicle, said Detective Jimmy Hardin. Officers found, in the vehicle, what they believed to be marijuana and drug paraphernalia. She then gave written consent for the officers to search her home.

Detective Hardin, Deputies Michael Veatch, Larry West, Anthony Warner, Ira Meador and Captain Darrel Taylor went to the residence.

After a search of the home, officers confiscated an unknown amount of marijuana and a large amount of drug paraphernalia including numerous pipes believed to be used in smoking the illegal substance. Officers also uncovered $220 in cash.

Caruso, who was not at the home, was later picked up at his place of employment to be questioned by authorities.

Detective Hardin will send the marijuana to the crime lab to obtain an accurate weight.
