First-class stamp now costs .39 cents

“It is the first increase since June 2002,” said Lafayette Post Master Jack Stevens.

The cost of mailing a letter increased to 39 cents on Sunday, Jan. 8.

Stevens went on to say, “We expect the increase to go smoothly. We’ll be watching and trying to catch pieces early in the mail stream that need the added postage.” He also said they have plenty of 2
