Funeral services for Willa Gray Spivey Knight, age 71, of Red Boiling Springs, TN will be conducted Thursday afternoon, Sept. 8, 2005, 3:00 p.m. from the chapel of Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs with Reverend Oran Collins officiating. Her family and friends served as pallbearers. Interment followed in Whitley Cemetery.

Willa Gray Knight passed away Monday morning, Sept. 5, 2005 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville.

A native of Macon County, TN, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Mazelle Pearson Spivey. On April 9, 1950, she was married to Willis Lee Knight, who preceded her in death on June 8, 1994. She was a supervisor for Cordell Hull Head Start with 28 years of service, member of Red Boiling Springs First Baptist Church, member of Red Boiling Springs City Council from 1997-2005 and served as Mayor of Red Boiling Springs from 1998-1999.

Survivors include: daughters, Landy Knight, Red Boiling Springs, Benita (Louis) Hudson, Lafayette; son, Roger (Coby) Knight, Red Boilng Springs, TN; sisters, Helen Yarchak, Hartville, OH, Peggy Miller, Sarasota, FL; brother, Roy (Judy) Spivey, Canton, OH; granddaughters, Danielle (Kevin) Gross, Red Boiling Springs, Callie Hudson, Lafayette; grandsons, Anthony (Melissa) Knight, Red Boiling Springs, Robert Knight, Hartsville, TN, Chandler Hudson, Lafayette, Chad Hudson, Red Boiling Springs; five great-grandchildren.
