He was born August 22, 1932 in Clay County, TN, the sonof the late Grover Denton and Avo (Grace) Denton. He was a carpenter and farmer and was a veteran of the Korean War.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Aug. 28, 2005, 2 p.m. at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with Gerald Watt officiating. Burial was in Macedonia Cemetery in Clay County. Military graveside service was held by DAV Chapter 20 of Glasgow. Honorary pallbearers were Terry Claywell, Don Roddy, Eddie Denton, Nick Denton, Ray Denton, Joe Lee Walker; active pallbearers were Kevin Denton, Kyle Denton, James Denton, Randy Walker, Kris Denton and Ronnie Denton.
Survivors include three sons, Jimmy (Lynn) Denton, Scottsville, KY, Danny (Sis) Denton, Lafayette, Silas Waldamer, California; three brothers, Delbert Denton, Columbus, IN, Fowler Denton, Tompkinsville, KY, Darrell "Flee" Denton, Tompkinsville; three sisters, Marie Roddy, Indianapolis, Irene Denton and Molene Walker, both of Tompkinsville; special friend, Susan Waldamer, California; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Two brothers, Bedford and Edward Denton, preceded him in death.
