Jerry Bray, 55, of Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee, and formerly of Lafayette, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2005 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. The Macon County, Tennessee native was born Thursday, August 10, 1950, a son of the late Odell Bray and Maggie Brooks Bray. He was a United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and a machine operator for Texas Boot until becoming disabled. He was married to Peggy Donoho Kemp Bray, who preceded him in death on March 2, 1999.

He is survived by a son, Stevie Bray; 3 step-sons and their wives, Kenny and Linda Kemp; Ronnie and Kendra Kemp; Jackie and Stacie Kemp, all of Lafayette, TN: a brother and sister-in-law, Lester and Wilma Bray, Bethpage, TN; 3 sisters and 2 brothers-in-law, Jean Whittle, Russell Springs, KY; Rose Oldham, Hartsville, TN; Faye and Dwayne Marsh, of the Akersville Community; and Roy Creswell, Jeffersonville, IN; several nieces, nephews, and step-grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, James Bray and Raymond Bray, and 2 sisters, Pauline Kirby and Jerildean Creswell.

Funeral services for Jerry Bray were conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at Alexander-Goad Funeral Home with Eld. J. B. Shoulders and Bro. Mike Gregorich officiating. Burial was in Macon County Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Henry Holland, Chris Oldham, Tracy Bray, Allan Thompson, Robert Johnson, and Billy Joe Stafford.

Alexander-Goad Funeral Home in Lafayette, TN was in charge of arrangements.
