Detective Jimmy Hardin stated that he received information from several people that a meth lab was at a residence on the Akersville Road. On Wednesday, July 27, Detective Hardin and Captain Darrell Taylor went to that residence to do a knock and talk. No one was at home. However, Detective Hardin observed a generator (or a two liter container with a clear hose and duct tape). They found a red liquid that is consistent with meth. They also reportedly observed several containers used to make meth.
The sheriff's department then obtained a search warrant for the residence. They returned later that night to search the residence. They waited several hours and observed no one coming from the house.
Detective Hardin, Captain Taylor, Deputy Jason Durham, and Deputy Michael Veatch executed the search warrant.
During the search, they found products used to manufacture methamphetamine and a container with a substance that appeared to be meth.
Clandestine Meth Lab Technician Sgt. Kimball Hall was called to the scene. He field tested the material. The drug enforcement agency was then notified and they did send a clean up crew to the home.
No arrests have been made in this case. It is still under investigation.
