The 5th annual Ma Haney Day will be held this Saturday, July 16, at the Macon Drive-In Theater on the Scottsville Road, in Lafayette. All proceeds from the event benefit the Ma Haney Scholarship Fund.

Days Auto Parts/Max's Auto Sales presents an antique, classic, imports, and projects car show. Registration for this event starts at 9 a.m. and last until noon. Judging starts at 2 p.m. The event has a $15 registration, 50 trophies.

At 11 a.m. a Miss Summer Beauty Pageant will begin. Contestants are asked to wear summer fun attire.

West Lafayette Baptist Church Drama Team will perform immediately after the pageant at 12 noon or 12:30 p.m.

The Karaoke contest is next on the agenda with a $50 prize for 1st place. The cost is $5 to enter and you must bring your own CD.

A waterslide for kids of all ages, craftbooths, drive in concession open all day with great food, and a professional clown for more entertainment.

A huge silent auction will be going on all day with items from local businesses such as Gross Appliance, Joan Mahaney Beauty Salon, Presley's Pizza and Grill, Paulette's Beauty Villa, Indigo Blues, Sherrill's Hair and Tanning Service, Total Look, Cathy's Florist, Ann's Bow Peep, Lafayette Hometown Foods, J & J Discount, Southern Home Furnishings, D.T. McCalls, Johnson's Jewelry, Mildred's Decorating Center, T.J. Wholesale, Frame It, Macon Dept. Store, Merts Dollhouse and Gifts, and Circle G BBQ. You can also register to win a free guitar from 104 Music.

The featured movie for the night is a 1958 cult classic Thunder Road, starring Robert Mitchum.
