One charged after auto break in at Fleetwood Homes

A 22-year-old man was charged with six counts of auto burglary, two counts of theft under $500, and one count of fraudulent credit card use by Lafayette Police Department Detective Stacy Gann.

On July 6, Sgt. Tim Perry was dispatched to Fleetwood homes of Lafayette for a break in of several vehicles.

Lavonda Hix, of Whitleyville, reported that someone had entered her 1994 Blazer and stole items including debit card, a checkbook, cash, and a cell phone.

Daphne Jones, of Lafayette, reported that someone stole cash out of her 1996 GMC.

Chris Tucker, of Lafayette, reported that someone stole a cell phone valued at $79 from his 2003 Chevrolet.

Peggy J. Bell stated that someone stole cash from her 2001 Taurus.

William C. Coffelt reported that someone stole cash, medication, and a bee sting kit from his vehicle. A total value of $80.

Scotty L. Roark of Lafayette, reported that someone stole medication and cash from his 1996 Ford.

On July 7, one of the victims reported to Detective Gann that her debit card had been used at a local bank and $360 was taken.

On July 8, Detective Gann went to the bank and was able to retrieve security film of the ATM machine.

At that time, he was able to identify Jesse Arden Conyer, 22, of the Scottsville Road. He was picked up and questioned. After an interview with Conyer, Detective Gann charged him with six counts of auto burglary, two counts of theft under $500, and one count of fraudulent use of a credit card. His court date is set for July 13, with a bond amount of $8000. He remains lodged at the Macon County Jail.
