Funeral services for Mr. Juluis Reed "Poppy" Hudson, age 87, of Gallatin were conducted Saturday, March 5, 2005, 1 p.m. at the Anderson & Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Jenkins and Bro. Kent Collier officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Chance Simmons, Tim Simmons, Richard Hudson, Bobby Hudson, Gary Ferrell and Calvin Tanksley. Interment followed in Crestview Memorial Gardens with military honors.

Mr. Julius "Poppy" Hudson passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at Sumner Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Red Boiling Springs, TN on August 20, 1917, the son of the late Vestal Odil and Della Margaret Miller Hudson. Besides his parents, his daughter, Sherie Hudson, and son, Larry Hesson, killed in Vietnam, preceded him in death. He married the former Mary Frances Wilson on November 18, 1955, who survives. He served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. He was a past member of Gallatin American Legion and was a member of Gallatin First Baptist Church. He was retired from the Federal Aviation Administration in Joelton.

Besides his wife of 49 years, he is survived by a son, William Hesson Hudson, Gallatin; brother, Vestal "Dick" (Margaret) Hudson, Gallatin; sisters, Virginia Neal, Magnolia, AR, Lucille (Edward) Porter, McKinley, TX; three grandchildren, one great-grandchild.
