Carroll reportedly was playing with the child and the rough playing allegedly led to the injuries the child sustained. The incident occurred in April of 2004. The child sustained brain damage and paralysis.
Carroll pled guilty to aggravated assault and was sentenced to 15 years as a range three offender at 45% time to serve.
Meador also pled to aggravated assault and was sentenced to six years as a range one offender to serve 30%.
The child remains in a foster home with foster parents who specialize in caring for a child with disabilities.
DCS is currently looking into severing Meador's parental rights.
