Pickett County High 85

The Pickett County squad outscored the RBS Bulldogs 21-15 in the first quarter and managed to pad the lead 40-26 by the half time break.

The third quarter found the two teams Even Steven with each netting 23 points. However, in the fourth, Pickette County turned on the heat and outscored the Bulldogs 22-6 to win the game.

Scoring: Dusty Dodson 6; Dustin Dozier 2; Matt Heady 2; Tyson Jenkins 4; Sam Jones 5; Daniel Meador 28; Dexter White 8.

RBS Bulldogs 63

Monterey High 49

The first quarter was a nip and tuck contest with Monterey coming out on top 15-13. In the second, the teams once again traded baskets with RBS outscoring Monterey 13-12 to go into the half down by one.

The third quarter was again evenly matched with RBS taking the lead 42-41. But in the fourth, the well dried up for the Monterey team and the Bulldogs netted 21 points to pad the lead and win the game.

Lady Bulldogs 43

Pickette County 44

The Lady Bulldogs dropped a close game to Pickett County on Friday, losing by one heart breaking point. The Lady Dogs took the lead in the first 8-5. In the second, the lead changed hands and the ladies went into the half time break with Pickett County leading 24-20. The third was ugly for the Lady Dogs as they found the bucket for only 9 points and allowed Pickette County 14. Then, like the second, the Lady Dogs dominated the fourth outscoring their opponents 14-6 and losing by only one point. Whitney Jordan led RBS with 18 points and Rachel Painter grabbed 10 rebounds.

Lady Bulldogs 46

Monterey 36

The Lady Bulldogs held the lead in each quarter of play against the Montery Lady Eagles to win by a 10 point margin last Tuesday.

Scoring: Emily Clark 5; Caylie Dickens 11; Ashton Gentry 10; Whitney Jordan 8; Rachel Painter 7; Kelly Rich 5.
