Two candidates are vying for mayor in the April 23 Red Boiling Springs City Council election. The election commission met last Thursday, January 20, and certified the applications of Kenneth Hollis and incubant mayor Randall Gregroy, who is currently serving his third term, for the ballot.

Three council seats will also be filled during the election. Current council members Willa Gray Knight and Fred Smith are not running for re-election. However, incubant Jimmy Neal Roark received certification to seek a second term on the council. Three other candidates received certification for the Red Boiling Springs City Council seats, Ray Bilbrey, John N. Cook, and Billy Whitley will be on the ballot with Roark for the council positions.
