Macon County Coach Gary Carter has long been known for his high - low post offense and early on the Tigerettes were putting on a clinic. With both post players Brandi Sircy and Kristan Wix leading the way, the Tigerettes were able to pound on the Portland defense with the high - low as Macon was able to take the lead at the end of first quarter 20 - 9. Sircy had 10 and Wix had 5 points to lead the Tigerettes.
When Portland decided to play zone to try to shut down the Tigerettes high low game, it gave Macon point guard Holly Compton numerous looks as she canned 8 points to help keep the Tigerettes rolling. Portland on offense could not find anything as the Tigerettes 2 - 3 zone frustrated the Lady Panthers. At the half, the Lady Panthers had the look of a team already defeated and the Tigerettes looked like a team ready to take on anyone as they held the halftime lead 37 - 19.
In the third, the Tigerettes continued to put the defensive clamps on the Lady Panthers limiting them to just 7 third quarter points. Once again Brandi Sircy led the way scoring 5 points in the third for the Tigerettes as still kept pouring it on to maintain their already large lead and even extend it a little bit to 45 - 26.
With a comfortable lead, one would think that the Tigerettes would put into cruise control for the rest of the game. This would not be the case though as they continued to pound on the Lady Panthers. Despite switching defenses and trying full court presses at times, the Lady Panthers would be no match for the Tigerettes on this night. The Tigerettes advances on to play Westmoreland in the championship game by drumming the Lady Panthers by a score of 55 - 30. Scoring for the Tigerettes was Brandi Sircy with 17, Holly Compton with 13, Kristan Wix with 11, Chelsea Compton scoring 6, Katelyn Gregory with 4, and Courtney Clarke and Sierra Conley with 2 apiece.
