Tigerettes go 1-1 in weekend play

After defeating Station Camp in early week play 60-46 led by Kristan Wix with 27 points, including three 3 pointers, and Tia Troutt with 14 points and three 3 pointers, the Tigerettes played twice over the weekend ending with a split for their record.

Friday night, December 3 found the Tigerettes at home against Greenbrier. The Tigerettes fell short in the final minutes of play with the Lady Bobcats taking home a 57-55 win over the Tigerettes.

Greenbrier raced to a 19-9 advantage in the first quarter. In the second, the Tigerettes outscored the Lady Bobcats 21-13 with Kaitlyn Gregory popping in a 3 pointer, and Compton and Clark both finding the inside lane to put the ball up and score. The Tigerettes went into half-time leading 34-28.

However, in the third the Lady Bobcats jumped back in front 45-39 and the fourth found the Tigerettes just short of catching the Lady Bobcats to drop a key region matchup.

On Saturday, December 4, the Tigerettes routed the ladies from Martin Luther King High School with a 68-19 victory.

Macon County (3-2) jumped out to a 17-2 first-quarter lead in a rout of MLK. Courtnea Clark's 14 points led four players in double figures for Macon County.

The Tigerettes held MLK to low scoring the whole game, while they continued to find the net to add points to their score.
