September 11, 2001, is a day non one will ever forget. It changed the lives of so many Americans. Some lost their loved ones, others lost their own lives, and still others lost a feeling of safety and security in their everyday life.

This year many families are celebrating the holidays without their loved ones who are across the ocean fighting for our freedom.

In honor of the ones who are serving our country both abroad and at home, this year's 2004 Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade is dedicated to the members of Macon County's fire departments, police departments, sheriff department, rescue squads, medical professionals, air-evac personnel, 911 dispatchers and the 278th Cavalry Unit.

We would like for everyone to come out and help us honor our everyday heroes.
