He was born January 3, 1929 in Jackson County, TN, a son of the late Phelps D. Clark and Ethel Keith Clark. He was married on Nov. 6, 1960 to Mildred Deckard Clark, who survives. He was a retired minister and retired educator. He served as superintendent of Schools in Jackson County from 1978-1982. He was a member of the Church of Christ and attended Jefferson Ave. Church of Christ in Cookeville. He was a retired member of National Teachers Assoc. and TN Teachers Assoc.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Alma Hinson Clark, who passed away in 1959 and one grandson.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Thomas B. (Kaye Brown) Clark of Huntsville, AL and Timothy L. Clark of Gainesboro; two daughters, Kimberly (Chris) Emrich of Hartford, CT and Karla J. Clark of Cookeville; one grandson; two brothers, Hugh (Madeline) Clark of Red Boiling Springs and Coleman Clark of Cookeville; one sister, Wanda (Henry) Bagwell of Red Boiling Springs.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004, 2 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home in Gainesboro with Bro. Dewayne Chaffin officiating. Burial was in Rob Draper Memorial Cemetery in Jackson County.
