On Friday, November 19, members of the Tennessee Highway Patrol and their K-9 officers, Macon County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Robin Gregory, Detective Mark Gammons, Detective Jimmy Hardin, Deputy Troy Griggs, and SRO Officers Terry Atkins and Brian Carter conducted a search of Macon County High School and parking lot and found evidence to charge five juveniles on drug charges.

No drugs were found during the search of the school. During the search of the parking lot, the K-9's hit on five cars. One vehicle was seized at the scene.

During the afternoon bus ride, it was reported that two juveniles were allegedly bragging about the marijuana they had in their possession, but were not caught with it. SRO Atkins and Captain Darrel Taylor were contacted and they did go to homes of both juveniles. Written consent was reportedly given by both parents to search the home. Marijuana was found on the juveniles and they reportedly admitted they had it at school. They will also be charged. All seven students will receive zero tolerance.

The Macon County Sheriff's Department would like to thank the THP and their K-9s and Lt. Vic Donoho for their help in this investigation.

A search of Macon County Junior High School Friday found no drugs. This search was conducted by the Lafayette Police Department, members of the 15th Judicial Task Force, and officers from Trousdale County.

Marijuana was the only drug found at the school, however several items of drug paraphernalia and a weapon were seized.
