Leroy Sircy, age 77, of the Defeated Creek Community died of cancer Sunday, October 24, 2004 at his home.

Elder Jeff Patterson and Bro. Steve Waller officiated at the 3:00 p.m. services, conducted Wednesday, October 27 from the Hackett Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home. Burial was in Defeated Creek Memorial Gardens.

Born June 10, 1927 in the Brooks Bend Community of Jackson County, he was the late of the late Payton and Minnie Burton Sircy. He was a member of Ensors Chapel Church in Jackson County. His first wife, Anna Lee Harris Sircy, passed away Dec. 13, 1984. On Sept. 5, 1986, he was married to the former Dorothy Lankford of Defeated Creek, who survives. He was a retired heavy equipment operator with the Eatherly Group.

Surviving in addition to his wife of over 18 years are sons, Mickey Sircy of Brooks Bend, Roger Sircy and wife Pam of Rickman; four step-grandchildren; a brother, Leon "Son" Sircy of Nashville; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
