Three men were arrested Thursday, October 29, for reportedly setting fire to the gym floor at the Red Boiling Springs High School Thursday night, October 7.
Brandon Harold Carnahan, 21, of Jimtown Road, Charles Dustin Marr, 21, of Horton Lane, and Marcus Dale Hudson, 18, of Oak Grove Road, Red Boiling Springs, have been charged with burglary, reckless burning, and felony vandalism.
According to RBS Chief Terry Tuck, the men reportedly gained entry through a back door at the gym. The men then allegedly placed hay, a t-shirt, and gas or some other type of accelerant to start the fire.
Chief Tuck received information that the three were involved and brought all in for questioning. Allegedly, all three admitted that they were involved in the incident. The case was investigated by Chief Tuck and Assistant Chief Steve Evans.
The court date has been set for December 1, with bond set at $3500 for each man.
The damage to the floor is estimated to cost between $5000 and $7000 to repair. The floor has been temporarily repaired and is being used.
School board member Gene Carter stated in a telephone interview that if the boys broke the law, they broke the law. He also stated that a warrant has been obtained for each man.
