Funeral services for Lester Porter Tuck, age 89, of Lafayette, TN, were conducted Sunday, Oct. 3, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Lafayette, TN with Elders Jerry Gammon and Jeff Blackwell officiating. Honorary pallbearers were his great-grandchildren. Grandsons served as active pallbearers. Interment followed in Macon County Memorial Gardens.

Lester Tuck passed away Thursday, Sept. 30, 2004 at Macon County General Hospital in Lafayette.

A native of Macon County, TN, he was the son of the late Willie and Vassie Swindle Tuck. He was preceded in death by sisters, Hester Tuck, Marie Needham and brother Hilman Tuck. He married Willie Mae Jones on Sept. 2, 1935 who preceded him in death on October 12, 1997. He was a farmer and horse trader and a member of Pleasant Hill General Baptist Church.

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Sylvia and Fred Brooks, Hendersonville, TN, Betty and W.C. Smith, Lafayette; sons and daughter-in-law, Joe Tuck, Fred Tuck, Randal and Marie Tuck, all of Lafayette; 17 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, and five step-great-great-grandchildren.
